In Memory: Erna Starlinger-Huemer

Erna Starlinger-Huemer, president of Starlinger & Co. GmbH, Vienna, and Georg Sahm GmbH & Co. KG, Eschwege, Germany, died on March 11 at the age of 81. Highly respected throughout her 50-plus years in the plastics machinery industry, she was awarded the Grand Silver Medal of Honor of the Republic of Austria in 2009. In addition to her positions with Starlinger and Georg Sahm, Starlinger-Huemer also was founder and senior manager of Unistrap GmbH, which makes technical tubular fabrics from plastics.
