PlasticsBiz.com to connect buyers, sellers

April 13, 2017

A new web portal offering services to the manufacturing community has set out to be the "Amazon of the plastics industry."

The goal of PlasticsBiz.com is to bring buyers and sellers together, company President Jason Wencel said. "We want to provide a one-stop-shop for everyone in the plastics industry — buyers, suppliers, vendors and engineers — to make it easier to identify potential business opportunities."More than 12,500 companies are listed in the online directory, which identifies where the companies are, what they do and how to contact them. Although the site has a well-populated classified section for equipment, visitors won't find huge, expensive machinery there. "We don't specialize in the massively expensive stuff; we're seeking a middle ground as far as the types of machinery and equipment you'll find on the site," Wencel said.   The company has made user-friendliness and convenience the cornerstones of its business, so it offers information, market intelligence and a message board where people can ask questions and discuss a variety of topics with their peers."Providing industry information is a critical part of what we do," Wencel said. "Whether it's the latest industry news, white papers written by industry experts, or a community forum to share ideas, visitors can find it here."
