Bunting Magnetics Co., Newton, Kan., acquired Master Magnets Ltd., Redditch, England, a maker of magnetic separation, recycling and metal detection equipment that is sold worldwide. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Master Magnets was founded in 1978 and has 26 employees. It will continue to operate out of its Redditch location. Simon Ayling, managing director of Bunting Magnetics Europe, will assume operations management of the new division.
Master Magnets' industrial magnetic separation equipment includes eddy current separators, permanent and electronic magnets, over-band magnets, drum magnets, suspension magnets and mineral separation equipment.
"Master Magnets Ltd. perfectly complements Bunting Magnetics in terms of innovation, quality products and providing magnetic solutions through individual components and complete systems," said Bob Bunting, president and CEO of Bunting Magnetics. He called the acquisition "a significant milestone" in his company's history.
