In memory: Tom McGwire

Tom McGwire, former president of Cheshire, Conn.-based Industrial Heater Corp., died Dec. 1. He ran the business from 1970 to 1991 and helped to create many heater design-related standards. He was also one of the founding members of the Eastern Region Group of the Society of the Plastics Industry (now the Plastics Industry Association), Washington, D.C., and patented a flexible heating blanket used to de-stress welds on large shipping vessels. Tom's son, Tad, currently serves as president of Industrial Heater.
