Hasco releases cutting data calculator

Nov. 22, 2016

Hasco, Fletcher, N.C., has updated its smart-phone app for mold makers, technicians and designers with a cutting data calculator for tool steel. Once individual parameters are entered, the app provides information such as feed, rotational speed or cutting volume.

The calculator joins the other core features of the software, all of which can be used even without an internet connection. They include:

• material selection;

• hardness value conversion;

• DIN/ISO tolerances for shafts and holes;

• a tool for the layout and dimensioning of locking cylinders; and

• a thread tool for recognizing pitch, and outside, core and flank diameters.

Hasco also created a comprehensive mold specification that enables toolmakers and their customers to collaborate on the exact details and design of complex injection molds. It also helps with project planning and design instruction documentation. For customers interested in obtaining German (DIN), European (EN) or international (ISO) certification or recertification, the app shows each detail and step in the quality-management process.
