Chem-Trend, Howell, Mich., has expanded its portfolio of purging compounds with the acquisition of the Ultra Purge business from Moulds Plus International srl, Villalvernia, Italy. The purchase includes the Ultra Purge brand, processing technologies and other business assets. Terms were not disclosed. Ultra Purge purging compounds are used for a broad range of thermoplastic applications, including injection molding, blow molding and extrusion. Chem-Trend supplies the Lusin brand of purge compounds, mold-release agents and products for mold maintenance.
Through the acquisition, "Chem-Trend significantly increases its ability to address processing needs in the thermoplastic market and strengthens its position for customer support and service," said Chem-Trend President and CEO Devanir Moraes.
