Universal Robots A/S, Odense, Denmark, has launched two related initiatives that it says will reduce spending on development and testing of automation systems that use its collaborative robots, and result in more plug-and-play options for end users.
The Universal Robots+ program allows customers to create customized automation systems using end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), software and accessories from a variety of suppliers. The components are guaranteed to integrate seamlessly with Universal Robots' products. The other initiative, +You, will enable outside product developers to more easily create applications specifically for use with robots from Universal Robots.
