James J. Fagan Sr., founder of Precision Feedscrews Inc. in New Castle, Pa., has passed away at the age of 81. The company, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, manufactures barrels, valves and end caps, in addition to feed screws. Fagan and his wife, Eileen, established the family-owned company, which is now run by his daughters, Mary McAnallen and Jane Fagan.
After receiving an undergraduate degree from Wittenburg University in Springfield, Ohio, and a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, Fagan served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked at National Rubber and Machinery Co. until 1966, when he became the co-founder of his first company, Feedscrews Inc.
