Husky, MHT's 15-year-old legal battle comes to end

It has dragged on for many years, but the legal dispute between Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd., Bolton, Ontario, and Mold & Hotrunner Technology AG (MHT), Hochheim, Germany, has been settled.

The two companies issued a joint statement on June 9 to announce that a 15-year battle over trade secrets had concluded amicably. The companies had been in discussions for months prior to the announcement. The terms of the settlement are confidential.

In other news from Husky, the company's Schöttli AG subsidiary, a maker of medical molds, received the Process Innovation Supplier of the Year award from Becton, Dickinson and Co. (BD), a medical technology company. Schöttli, based in Diessenhofen, Switzerland, was acquired by Husky in 2013, and supplies BD, of Franklin Lakes, N.J., with molds for a variety of medical products, including syringe components.
