MGS Mfg. Group Inc., Germantown, Wis., has been purchased by Mason Wells Inc., a private equity company that is based in Milwaukee.

MGS designs and makes tools, automation systems and multishot molding technologies. It also does its own molding, operating more than 280 molding machines in five facilities. The company was founded in 1982 by Mark G. Sellers.

Part of the plan is to expand the company globally, officials said in a press release. "We are often evaluating opportunities to expand in order to meet the needs of our global customers," said MGS President Paul Manley. "Having a partner with the knowledge and financial resources of Mason Wells gives us a great platform for growth."
