Auxiliary equipment manufacturer Matsui America Inc., Hanover Park, Ill., has formed a partnership with the newly opened SA Engineering Technology Collaboration Center in Livonia, Mich. The center was created to provide the automotive industry with the latest plastics processing technologies and to serve as an incubator for developing production technologies.
Matsui America will have two types of its rapid heat/rapid cool systems for molds installed at the center.
"We believe that we will be enabling designers of interior and exterior automotive parts in creating unique surface effects, molded-in colors, Class A surfaces … and other innovative surface finishes, with our installed rapid heat/rapid cool molding equipment," said Nobu Yamanaka, Matsui America technology director.
Matsui America is a unit of Matsui Manufacturing Co. Ltd., Osaka, Japan.
