Milacron reports profit and investment in India

Milacron Holdings Corp., Cincinnati, reported sales during the first quarter were flat but the publicly traded machinery maker made a profit.

First-quarter sales were $277.3 million, down slightly from $279.2 million in the same quarter in 2015. Net profit was $9.8 million, compared with a loss of $15.9 million a year earlier.

CEO Tom Goeke predicted Milacron will have increased sales and profits during 2016.

Separately, Milacron announced it is continuing to invest in the Indian plastics market by expanding its Ahmedabad facility where injection, blow and extrusion equipment is manufactured and its Coimbatore hot-runner manufacturing plant. The costs of the expansions were not disclosed.
