Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions, Southbridge, Mass., has acquired cutting blade manufacturing companies D&S Manufacturing Co. Inc. and PDK Design & Grinding Co. Inc., both in nearby Auburn, Mass. The three companies make knives and blades used in shredders, grinders and other recycling equipment. Terms were not disclosed.
Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions, in operation for 140 years, is a division of Hyde Tools Inc. It manufactures cutting blades for a wide range of industrial uses. PDK Design has been in business for more than 85 years and D&S Manufacturing for more than 70 years.
The three companies will continue to operate as separate businesses for the time being, according to Hyde.
