IPEG acquires conveying systems maker Pelletron
IPEG Inc., Cranberry Twp., Pa., has acquired Pelletron Corp., which designs and engineers pneumatic conveying systems and dust removal systems, for an undisclosed amount. Pelletron is based in Lancaster, Pa., near Philadelphia.
Pelletron was founded in 1987 and has been operated by Heinz Schneider and Paul Wagner since 2003. They will stay in their roles of president and vice president, respectively, and the company will be operated as an independent subsidiary from its current location.
Because of the acquisition, IPEG CEO Chris Keller said Pelletron will have more support for engineering high-throughput pneumatic conveying systems. The move gives Pelletron the financial backing it needs to handle larger projects that can run into the millions of dollars, according to the company.
"Our growth has been limited by our size, not by our know-how or capability," said Schneider. "With the strong financial backing and global footprint of IPEG, which is much larger than Pelletron, our customers will be able to have more confidence in our ability to handle these projects."
IPEG also owns auxiliary equipment maker Conair Group Inc., also of Cranberry Township; Republic Machine, which makes single shaft shredders, of Franklin, Pa., and Thermal Care Inc., a maker of process cooling equipment based in Niles, Ill.
