Program retrofits hydraulic presses to run like hybrids

RSW Technologies, Rossford, Ohio, has announced its ability to retrofit any size or brand of hydraulic injection molding machine to run more like a servo hydraulic hybrid. As part of its eMiser program, RSW will send technicians to customers' factories and replace inefficient motors and pumps, and remove proportional valves. RSW installs a system that can precisely supply the correct oil flow, so almost all goes directly to work in the machine and barely any is wasted. The company said the retrofit can reduce a machine's energy use by 50-80 percent.
