Novatec expands to Pennsylvania borough

Auxiliary equipment maker Novatec Inc., Baltimore, now has a manufacturing plant in Brookhaven, Pa., a borough southwest of Philadelphia.

"We reached a point where we were outgrowing the ability for manufacturing to keep up with sales despite the fact that we previously expanded manufacturing here in Baltimore," said Conrad Bessemer, president and CEO of Novatec. "We need more space in the Baltimore facility to build both small and large NovaWheel dryers, central drying hoppers and the downstream extrusion products like cutters, pullers, traveling saws, as well as flood and vacuum tanks."

Novatec has moved several of its experienced personnel to Brookhaven to ensure product quality and consistency and hired additional people from that area, according to a company press release. At the 35,000-square-foot facility, Novatec will build vacuum pumps, vacuum loaders and electrical controls for several other products. In the near future, the company plans to move production of other products, including cyclones and conveying accessories, to Brookhaven. It will expand the facility's workforce and product portfolios as business necessitates.
