Mammoth line built for sheet extrusion

Uway Extrusion, Marshall, Ind., held its open house through the month of February for its new extruder manufacturing facility in Warren, Ohio. In a test run of its new machine on the afternoon of Jan. 27, virgin and recycled HDPE were being processed. The line has a product thickness range of 0.08 inch to 0.5 inch with a finished sheet width of up to 10 feet. The output is up to 5,000 pounds per hour. Its main extruder has a 6-inch diameter and the coextruder has a diameter of 4.5 inches. It boasts a calendaring roll stand that is 9 feet tall and 6.25 feet deep.
