Injection mold maker and system developer StackTeck Systems Ltd., Brampton, Ontario, spent over $4 million on new equipment in 2015 and plans to spend an additional $4.2 million in 2016.
The investment will be in new machine tools that will support new product launches, said Lou Dimaulo, StackTeck's VP of operations.
"We have implemented a new scheduling system in the central areas of our manufacturing facility so that we can keep close control of the new jobs that are brought into the manufacturing floor," he said. "New machines and robotics will add productivity throughout the plant, allowing us to get work done more efficiently and effectively."
In addition to its machinery investments, the company has made major building upgrades and will be adding new employees to its night and weekend shifts.
