Entek has integrated some of the major features of its quick-change, quick-clean and quality-control upgrades into its 27mm and 53mm twin-screw extruders.

QC3 upgrades Entek, which introduced its principles of quick change, quick clean and quality control with the QC3-43mm twin-screw extruder at NPE, has integrated some of the major features into its 27mm and 53mm co-rotating twin-screw extruders, the E-27 and E-53.

What's new? A variety of upgrades, including a quick-align shaft to gearbox couplers, shroud covers, easy-open guard and an air deflector on the end of the motor. Tools can be mounted on the machine, so they're within easy reach, and a device that allows for fast, easy barrel cleaning is also available.

Benefits High-quality components and controls that make possible remote troubleshooting. Entek emphasizes the lean-manufacturing principles that inspired the machines. The design is intended to facilitate faster, easier changeovers, and it reflects a commitment to cleanliness. It's dust-repellant, so the machines stay clean under the hood. The machines also feature easy-to-clean stainless steel and powder-coated surfaces.
