Nordson Corp., Westlake, Ohio, has announced that its subsidiary, Nordson Xaloy Inc., New Castle, Pa., will drop its product line of chill rolls over the next six to 12 months.
James R. Jaye, the director of communications and investor relations for Nordson Corp., says the rolls, which are used to cool extruded plastics, are not a major part of the company's business. It plans to work with its customers to help them find other chill roll suppliers.
The news will affect about 30 positions and close a New Castle plant where the rolls have been chrome plated. It has not finalized its future plans for the facility.
