Experienced machine tool builder Rajkovich dies at 93

Nick Rajkovich, West Palm Beach, Fla., died at age 93 but leaves long legacy including two sons and several grandsons who work in the plastics industry.

Nick Rajkovich, of West Palm Beach, Fla., who spent his career working in the plastics industry, died at age 93 on April 22.

An experienced machine tool builder, Rajkovich worked at Van Dorn Plastics Machinery, where he was in charge of production of the first Van Dorn hydraulic injection molding machine. He later served as a plant manager for the company, retiring in 1980 after about two decades.

Rajkovich's survivors include two sons and several grandsons who work in the plastics industry. Son Nick J. Rajkovich is the president and founder of Gem City Plastics Machinery Inc., Cleveland, and son Tom Rajkovich is the president of Comet Plastic Equipment, Riviera Beach, Fla., where Nick Rajkovich's grandson, Robert Rajkovich, works as the technical service manager. In addition, Nick Rajovich's grandson, Sam Rajkovich, is the director of sales and marketing at Sturtevant Inc., Hanover, Mass., and grandson Andrew Rajkovich is the owner of Ponderosa Plastics Equipment, Layton, Utah.
