Stork, Sepro team up

Sepro Group, La Roche-sur-Yon, France, has agreed to allow its top-entry Cartesian robots to be marketed and sold under the name of industry partner Stork IMM B.V., Hengelo, Netherlands.

Stork, a maker of injection molding machines, now will be able to offer its customers more comprehensive processing systems, CEO Robert G. Spekreijse says. Its current products include molding lines for making pots, pails, crates and food packaging.

"The expansion of our product portfolio with Sepro allows us to offer to our customers the systems they ask for. Especially regarding our crate-line, for example. Usually, we are asked to supply a global package instead of a machine only," Spekreijse says.

The news comes amid two consecutive years of record-setting sales for robot-maker Sepro. Sepro says it has enjoyed steady growth since it began selling directly in the U.S. and Canada.

In the U.S., the company recently announced that it had named Coastal Plastics Equipment Inc., Hampton, N.H., to sell its robots in the New England territory to include Connecticut, Vermont and New Hampshire.
