Kaman creates new unit

Kaman Corp., Bloomfield, Conn., which serves the motion-control and power-transmission-control market, has created a new operating unitto serve original equipment manufacturers, industrial production plants and infrastructure facilities.

The unit, Kaman Automation, Control & Energy, offers capabilities in engineering, manufacturing and distribution. It was created through the combination of some of the existing resources of Kaman Industrial Technologies along with Minarik Corp., acquired by Kaman in 2010, and Zeller Corp., acquired by Kaman 2012. It employs more than 500 people, who work out of 27 facilities throughout North America.

Kaman Corp.  trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol KAMN. It was founded in 1945 by aviation pioneer Charles H. Kaman.
