Sun Plastech acquires purging compound firm

June 25, 2015
Sun Plastech Inc., Parsippany, N.J., has increased its purging product market share with its acquisition of Novachem. According to Sun Plastech Marketing Manager Miyuki Matsumine, Novachem, which employed eight people at its Bridgeport, Conn., headquarters, will close within 90 days of the June 1 acquisition.
Sun Plastech, the maker of Asaclean mechanical purging compounds, plans to rename Novachem's chemical purging compound product line, which currently includes SuperNova, Novapurge and InstaPurge. By adding the products, which are suited for low-flow and low-pressure environments, Sun Plastech says it will be able to meet the needs of customers facing almost any purging scenario.
The company is the largest core operating unit of Asahi Kasei Group, Tokyo, and serves injection molders and extruders across North and South America.
