Jack Elmer Pregont, dies at age 85

Jack Elmer Pregont, the founder of the Prent and GOEX corporations in Janesville, Wis., and a former national director of the SPI, died at age 85 on April 17 in Sarasota, Fla.

Since 1967, when Pregont founded Prent, the company has become a leading designer and manufacturer of custom thermoformed packaging for the medical, electronics and consumer industries. GOEX, which Pregont started in 1983, manufactures plastic sheet products.

Pregont, who turned over leadership of Prent to his son in 1985, was named Thermoformer of the Year by the Society of Plastics Engineers in 1989.
