Plasmatreat North America Inc., Ancaster, Ontario, has provided two high-powered generators to the University of South Carolina to support the efforts of the Ronald E. McNAIR Center for Aerospace Innovation and Research, which focuses on aerospace engineering and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education and research. The center leased the machines at a discounted rate and will share its research with Plasmatreat.

A subsidiary of Plasmatreat GmbH, Steinhagen, Germany, Plasmatreat North America focuses on automotive, packaging and process-oriented customers in food, medical and research initiatives. Its Openair plasma technology is used to clean plastic, making later adhesion of glues and coatings possible.
