Century Extrusion, Traverse City, Mich., will supply two twin screw extruders for the new Athens, Ala., compounding plant of Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Fowlerville, Mich.
Century Extrusion, a global supplier of twin screw compounding systems, twin screw extruders, replacement parts and support services for the plastics industry and other markets, also provided a twin screw extrusion line for Asahi Kasei's 2013 expansion in Fowlerville.
Asahi Kasei is a custom compounder of engineered polymers and is a major supplier of short-glass reinforced polypropylene to the North American market. The Athens plant, the firm's second in North America, will allow it to better meet customer demand in the southern U.S.
