QC3-43mm  This twin screw extruder for general material compounding has been totally redesigned using extensive input from customers, and engineered in Entek's Lebanon, Ore., facility following lean manufacturing principles. It replaces Entek's 40mm extruder.

WHAT'S NEW?  A patent-pending self-alignment feature that allows screws to be installed quickly and only in the correct position. The extruder frame design deflects dust, and surfaces are stainless steel or powder coated for faster cleanup. SMART controls feature enhanced graphics, recipe library and web-based connectivity for remote troubleshooting. The motor size has been increased to 200 horsepower at 1,200 rpm. Tools are stored on the extruder at their point of use.

BENEFITS  Quick screw-set changeovers can be accomplished by one technician in less than five minutes, without the possibility of incorrect installation and screw damage. The frame design cuts maintenance time by keeping the extruder clean under the hood. The larger motor provides 33 percent higher shaft torque.
