Screw and barrel maker Reiloy Westland Corp., Wichita, Kan., broke ground on a facility that will accommodate its growth in the U.S. market.
Dave Larson, president of Reiloy Westland, told PMM that everything is going well on the construction of the 55,000-square-foot building, scheduled for completion in June. Reiloy Westland had occupied a 25,000-square-foot facility, which it leased, but its growth necessitated the expansion.
Larson relayed his optimism for the U.S. market and said that the new building will accommodate more machinery.
"It's equipment to allow us to increase the size in which we can manufacture both screws and barrels and the speed with which we can manufacture," he said.
Reiloy Westland is owned by Reifenhäuser Group, Troisdorf, Germany. Larson oversees Reiloy Westland's growth and expansion in the North American market. Its Kansas location is the only manufacturing site located outside of Germany for Reifenhäuser.
