Gira Giersiepen GmbH & Co. KG, a producer of electrical technology systems for building and construction, Radevormwald, Germany, named injection molding machinery maker Arburg GmbH & Co. KG and robotics firm FPT Robotik GmbH & Co. KG its suppliers of the year for 2014.
Arburg, based in Lossburg, Germany, and FPT, based in Amtzell, Germany, won the award for a customized production cell centered on a hybrid Allrounder 570 H. Arburg and FPT integrated a multi-cavity mold from Gira into the cell which produces shockproof inserts for plug sockets.
The companies' goals for the production cell was efficiency. The companies achieved improved cycle times and consistency for continuous use.
