SST 4200 Made from heavy-duty aircraft aluminum, SST's new tool presetter uses an auto-focusing camera to capture and measure critical features of the tool-cutting edge to an accuracy within microns. It has fully automatic X-, Y- and C-axes, and its spindle features actuated clamping of tool holders. A thermo-label comes standard; as an option, SST also supplies a radio-frequency identification (RFID) system.
What's new? The presetter, which hit the market last month.
Benefits Tool-measurement accuracy to within 0.003mm, with spindle concentricity of 0.002mm, and ease of use. The presetter boasts an intuitive touch-screen control that provides easy access to tool data, photographs, drawings and 3-D images. Presetters take tool measurements away from the machining center.
