C 650 machining center The five-axis C 650 is the largest and newest model in Hermle Machine's Performance line of machining centers, which have a variety of applications, including mold making. It features a large door to accommodate big workpieces, a swiveling rotary table with a maximum load of slightly more than 3,300 pounds, a rigid clamping table with a maximum load of 6,614 pounds, and a 19-inch Heidenhain TNC 640 touch-screen control system. The C 650's top speed of linear traverse is 1.91 feet per second.
What's new? The machine, which debuted at the EMO Show in Hannover, Germany, in September.
Benefits Value, size and speed. The C 650 machining center can accommodate larger and heavier workpieces than the C 250 or C 400 while maintaining linear traverse speeds almost as high as the models in the company's High-Performance line, at a lower price. Its standard integrated magazine has room for up to 42 tools, with 50-pocket and 88-pocket tool magazines available as options.
