EOS M 290 This 3-D direct-metal-laser-sintering printer has a build volume of about 9.8 inches by 9.8 inches by 12.8 inches. Featuring a 400-watt fiber laser, it can be used in the production of molds, along with a wide range of other parts.
What's new? The addition of EOSTATE Exposure OT to the EOSTATE software suite for the printer. Released in June, the new optical tomography module joins three others that were already available: System and Laser, PowderBed and MeltPool. The new module uses a camera to fully map each part in real time throughout the build process, layer by layer, regardless of the part's size or shape.
Benefits The potential to cut costs by achieving greater control over part quality. EOSTATE delivers detailed data on the melting behavior of metals used in the build process. Armed with this data, operators can zero in on the factors that most influence deviations outside set parameters.
