polyXtrue software The newest version of Plastic Flow's polyXtrue software helps users design new extrusion dies and optimize existing dies by simulating 3-D material flow. Including modules for both monoextrusion and coextrusion, it allows users to specify material properties, such as shear viscosity, density and thermal conductivity, as well as processing conditions, including flow rate and temperature. It accurately predicts the post-die distortion in extrudate shape.
What's new? As of March, the new version of polyXtrue can be run as an add-in inside Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks for automatic optimization of extrusion dies. It is also easier to use, thanks to the multiple improvements made to the graphical user interface.
Benefits Design efficiency and improved die performance. Using the software can reduce the number of physical fine-tuning cycles needed by 50 percent, resulting in a die with optimal geometry based on the processing conditions and material being used.
