Open Mind's CAM software can be used to create cutter paths for numerical control, or NC, milling machines.

hyperMILL Open Mind's CAM software can be used to create cutter paths for numerical control, or NC, milling machines. With it, operators can machine items such as mold cores and cavities, mold bases and tooling in a single setup. The software features multiple two-, three- and five-axis strategies, and functions for high-speed cutting and high-performance roughing. What's new? Version 2017.1. New features include enhanced color-coding for toolpaths and the ability to combine multiple job setups into a single step. The new version also optimizes three-axis machining of cutting edges.  Also, for the first time, the software can exchange data with the machine controller.

Benefits Greater performance, more process reliability and increased flexibility and efficiency, resulting in time savings. Also, with improvements to hyperMILL's data-exchange system, operators can compare settings in the CAM software and values at the machine control, so they can better identify entry errors.
