This system is used to connect the mold ejector plate to the press ejection system in injection molding machines.

SmartFlow FasTie This system from Burger & Brown Engineering is used to connect the mold ejector plate to the press ejection system in injection molding machines, and is designed to support single minute exchange of die (SMED) practices.

What's new? The size. A new 3-inch version joins 1-inch, 1.375-inch and 2-inch models, and is targeted for use in injection molding machines with 1,500 tons of clamping force or more. The maximum ejector force per knock-out position is 15 tons, compared to 7.5 tons for the 2-inch version.

Benefits Fast mold changes. The couplers can be permanently mounted to the press ejector plate while stored molds are equipped with the pull studs for fast installation. The couplers and pull studs connect mechanically and are quickly released by applying shop air to the coupler, which remains in the open position, ready for the next mold. Because FasTie installs easily into existing holes, no additional machining is needed.
