CrystalView This software and hardware add-on to Agr's Pilot products is designed to maximize PET bottle performance while limiting pearlescence. The upgrade optimizes bottle crystallinity during the blow molding process based on temperature. These features enhance Agr's other Pilot products, the Process Pilot and Pilot Profiler, which work together to measure thickness and control the blower.

What's new? The crystallinity profile monitoring function for chilled-mold production. Agr intends to offer the option on new production units, as well as offer a version that can be retrofitted to existing systems; the company hopes to make the feature available by the end of this month.

Benefits Energy savings, greater control and higher quality bottles, with more predictable, repeatable outcomes. The new function can help processors maintain appropriate material distribution while optimizing material orientation. Because CrystalView simultaneously optimizes preform temperatures to manage pearlescence while controlling thickness, it is possible for plants to lightweight bottles more aggressively without sacrificing their molecular performance. The result is stronger, lighter bottles that perform better, with greater stability.
