EDI nine-manifold coextrusion die Nordson Corp. has developed new multimanifold coextrusion die technology for the production of nine-layer films.
What's new? The number of manifolds, the most the company has ever offered. Previously, Nordson had offered dies with up to five manifolds.
Benefits Greater accuracy, enhanced product quality and savings on material costs. The multimanifold system can reduce the variation in individual layer thickness to plus or minus 5 percent, compared to the 15 percent variation typical with advanced feed block systems. As a result, processors can run thinner layers of the costly specialty materials that are required for high-performance packaging films.
