Worm gear This device from Aluminium Mould Set Co. Ltd. (Almo), London, tightens or releases inserts inside a mold cavity. The worm gear has a hexagonal key that connects with the cap screw that secures the inserts in the mold cavity. A tool to turn the gear is used at a 90 degree angle to the screw portion of the gear. Available in different sizes, the elements are precision machined and hobbed from phosphor bronze for good coefficient of friction characteristics.
