HS-RIB Z-Axis Head Enhancement This Z-axis column/head for high-speed electrical discharge machining is now offered on Makino's EDNC-Series sinker EDM machines for large pieces with deep ribs, such as injection molds.
What's New? The jump rate is up to four times faster and Z-axis acceleration rate 30 times faster over previous technologies. A more efficient hydraulic effect helps evacuate debris from the spark gap in deep ribs. Z-axis strokes range from 500mm to 800mm. Orbital machining patterns may be programmed without amp limitations. The direct-drive motor and liquid cooling ensure thermal stability and depth control, and supports electrode weights of up to 220 pounds.
