Latest software includes CAD calculators

June 15, 2019
DFMA Boothroyd Dewhurst’s Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) software analyzes parts and assemblies to reduce part counts, control costs and improve quality and manufacturing efficiencies. It is appropriate for injection molded and 3-D printed parts. Using it, engineers and manufacturers can assess part-assembly strategies, learn new design skills and integrate design and manufacturing. The software identifies parts that can be consolidated or eliminated, resulting in more elegant products that are functionally efficient and easy to assemble.

What’s new? The latest version, DFMA 2019. It features new CAD calculators that let users cull more information related to cost drivers directly from 3-D models. It also has new graphical windows, charts and reports that make it easy to compare legacy parts with new designs. The new features allow users to analyze parts and assemblies for manufacturing time and labor, along with costs for assembly processes and all material aspects of product development.

Benefits Optimized parts and faster “should-cost” analysis. DFMA 2019 is a faster, easier-to-use and more powerful program for product simplification and cost estimation.
