3-D printer system is modular, mobile
S2 Distributed by 3DChimera and Swigro, this3-D printingsystem from Sintratec AG, Badenerstrasse, Switzerland, is suitable for making prototypes from resins including polyamide and TPE. Featuring a cylindrical build chamber, the selective-laser-sintering system is capable of performing integrated, semi-automated tasks, including material preparation, de-powdering and surface treatment. Printer tasks are divided among a variety of modules, including the Material Handling Station, mobile Material Core Unit, Laser Sintering Station and Polishing Station. The Material Core Unit, which houses the build chamber for part production, has a build size of about 1.3 feet tall by 0.5 feet in diameter.
What’s new? Modularity and mobility. While Sintratec’s earlier S1 was a stand-alone unit, the S2 is a complete system, designed so that users can add or remove modules, as needed
Benefits Ease of use, and fast print jobs. The modules free users from some tasks, such as part cleaning. Also, the system’s modular design allows users to expand as they require; for example, by adding a second Material Core Unit, users can print with different materials.
