Wasp printer handles flexible engineering thermoplastics
4070 FX The 4070 FX from Wasp srl of Massa Lombarda, Italy, is a large-format, delta-style industrial 3D printer designed to print flexible materials, such as TPU, with hardnesses down to 50 shore A. Its Flex X extruder works with 2.85mm filament and can reach temperatures up to 536 degrees Fahrenheit. It is compatible with 0.4mm, 0.7mm and 1.2mm nozzles. Its build chamber features thermal and acoustic insulation. PicoSolutions Group is the North American distributor of Wasp printers.
What’s new? Motor drivers that are quieter and more precise than those used in earlier models. Newly introduced carbon fiber arms cut the mechanism’s weight in half. The printer features a new 7-inch touchscreen display.
Benefits Fast, precise prints of flexible engineering thermoplastics. The printer has all-metal double gear extruders that offer double the grip and triple the force available from other extruders. It has an on-board camera that allows for remote monitoring as well as gathering time-lapse images of builds. The build chamber can maintain a temperature of 158 degrees Fahrenheit to improve prints of technical thermoplastics, while insulating mechanisms from heat. The 4070 FX is available for a base price of about $13,058.
