PU Rigid Resins Formlabs has introduced two high-performance PU resins for the production of tough, durable parts using the company’s stereolithography (SLA) 3D printers. Compatible with the Form 2, Form 3, Form 3+, Form 3B and Form 3B+ printers, both materials are appropriate for parts for medical, automotive, aerospace, industrial and consumer products.
What’s new? PU Rigid 650 Resin and PU Rigid 1000 Resin, the toughest materials in the company’s portfolio. PU Rigid 650 Resin is suited for printing impact-resistant and pliable parts that maintain dimensional accuracy under load, such as hinges, wheels, bumpers and grommets. PU Rigid 1000 Resin can be used to produce semi-stiff, sturdy parts that repeatedly endure high-stress environments, such as jigs, fixtures, castings, enclosures, bottle caps, buckles and bike pedals.
Benefits PU parts that can withstand extreme environments and design requirements. The new resins transcend the limitations of traditional PU manufacturing, giving users more design freedom, reduced production costs and better workflow efficiencies, the company said.
