Sintratec software packs parts in to maximize build space
S2 System Sintratec’s S2 System 3D printer uses selective laser sintering technology to make parts from resins such as polyamide and TPE. Featuring a cylindrical build chamber, the modular system consists of the Laser Sintering Station, where printing takes place; the Material Handling Station, which handles powder removal; and the Material Core Unit, which allows users to easily switch from one print material to another.
What’s new? An upgrade to the printing software that optimizes how the parts fit into the build chamber. The Nesting Solution tool analyzes the parts to be made and automatically determines how to place them within the build volume as densely as possible. The Nesting Solution is free for the first year for all current and new Sintratec S2 customers.
Benefits Efficiency. The Nesting Solution automates the laborious process of placing, rotating and moving 3D part images to optimize the use of the build space. Users can achieve twice the packing density of manual placement, reducing unit costs. Sintratec says that using Nesting Solution for 100 print jobs can save 50 work hours, about 104 pounds of powder and 800 hours of printing time.
