OPM250L Combining laser-metal-sintering and high-speed milling capabilities, this 3-D metal printer from Sodick is ideal for makers of molds and tooling.
What's new? The recent introduction of additional technologies to the printer, which has been available in the U.S. for less than a year. They include a longer-lasting fume-collection system and a parallel mode feature, which optimizes the energy from a single laser beam so it can act on three locations at once. In addition, the printer also is equipped with a special camera that tracks the positions of the laser and milling spindles, making in-process corrections possible.
Benefits The accurate manufacture of complex, high-density shapes within one machine. With its parallel mode capabilities, the printer efficiently creates shapes at high speeds.
