Markforged 3-D printers fast, produce high-quality parts

Markforged has expanded its portfolio with two printers that use the company's proprietary Onyx chopped carbon-fiber/nylon filament.

Onyx series Markforged, a 3-D printer manufacturer, has expanded its portfolio with two printers that use the company's proprietary Onyx chopped carbon-fiber/nylon filament. The series is made up of the Onyx One, which has a single print head and price tag of $3,499, and the Onyx Pro (shown), which has a second print head for printing continuous fiberglass and costs $6,999. Both printers come with built-in touch screens, printing software and print volumes of about 13 inches by 5 inches by 6 inches. Designed for manufacturing high-quality end-use parts, including tooling and fixtures, the printers can be used to make prototype injection molds.
