The MI.RA/Picker has two high-resolution laser sensors and a central camera that can autonomously recognize and locate parts, and direct grippers.

MI.RA/Picker The name of Comau’s intelligent vision system stands for Machine Inspection Recognition Archetypes. It works with a broad range of robot arms and grippers. It introduces two high-resolution laser sensors and a central camera that can autonomously recognize and locate parts, and guide grippers to grasp unorganized rigid parts within a bin. It is well-suited for use across many sectors, including the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, plastics and automotive industries.

What’s new? The MI.RA/Picker.

Benefits Decreased operator intervention and faster, simpler logistic flow with previous systems. The MI.RA/Picker can sort at a rate of up to 40 pieces per minute. Operators can simply dump parts into a bin, rather than having to sort and orient them by hand. The system has an intuitive programming interface, and its virtual simulation tools optimize path management and collision-free trajectories. The turnkey vision system is hardware-agnostic, so it can be adapted to any brand of commercial robot, customized bin or customized gripper.
