powerPrint KraussMaffei’s powerPrint 3D printer is capable of printing high-quality, large-format objects using the same type of resin pellets as injection molding machines. KraussMaffei linear robots are used to guide the printer’s extruder precisely at high production speeds. The printer can produce large functional polymer parts, as well as prototypes or parts useful for tool and mold makers and in the automotive industry.
What’s new? The ability to print with an expanded material portfolio. The print bed has been optimized and now can reach temperatures up to 356 degrees Fahrenheit, which, in combination with the system’s reusable printing plates, enables perfect processing of technical materials for carbon and glass fiber molds for hand layup or vacuum infusion, as well as PP for construction and infrastructure applications.
Benefits Fast, lower-cost printing of large-scale plastic parts. The print bed improvements ensure warp-free print jobs and fast setup and tear-down of the system. KraussMaffei has integrated a material silo with a scale into the portfolio to ensure a continuous material supply for long, uninterrupted print jobs. The printer’s sensor technology has been expanded to directly measure parameters such as melt temperature to improve precision and control, improving the data it shares with other industrialized digital products from KraussMaffei. A maintenance platform ensures safe and convenient access and maintenance of the printer.
